We've been going here forever. It's a classic Thursday night place. We love sitting in the atrium once the mall is closed, but the food is always so well done. Servers are great as well. We are regulars and will always be. We normally get the vegetable fajitas, chicken tortilla soup, the chicken quesadillas (oh my gosh that margarita slaw is to die for). It's a timeless classic that we could eat at 100 times more.
Always reliable! We visited here as a last minute girls night, needing a drink after a long week at work. Our server matched our vibe and got our drinks to us right away! We will be back soon!

Manager Taj helped me coordinate the evening; while Canyon Cafe has a full menu of great options for small and large dinner parties, we chose a large table, in the space just outside the main doors to the mall (by Saks), and we ordered off the menu. Great service from Aerina; great dinner with friend... fantastic birthday dinner: - appetizer... queso dip... first time ordered... great! - Alambre steak - tostados - fajitas - street tacos - birthday ice cream to share - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Previous Review - September, 2023 (2023-09) - - - - - - - - We visited Canyon Cafe on our first date and we enjoy visiting on our anniversary, and on other dates, too. Diverse menu of Southwestern inspired options. Good portions, fair pricing and always pleasant servers. There's multiple dining areas depending on your mood. Bar, outdoors, main indoor area and mall seating. Spacious seating so you're not on top of your dining neighbors. This visit I opted for the Tuna entree. Great flavors, healthy and cooked exactly as requested. Dining partner had Mahi Mahi and shrimp entree, which was really enjoyed as well. I've never been disappointed with flavors here. Also, love the chips and salsa they serve complimentary, and the final complimentary sweet treat at end of meal with corn wrapped white chocolate is a crowd pleaser and a really nice touch!
We sat up at the bar and they immediately gave us chips and salsa. The chips had a seasoning on them that made them addicting. I had to try "The Best Margarita In Town". The margarita did not disappoint. They also have a nice patio. The Adovo chicken pasta is a must try!
They almost gave someone's order to me so maybe the staff need to pay more attention to the order but food is good! The shrimp is very tasty! The chip and salsa taste great as well! Only downside is they didn't have any power outlet, I was trying to do some work on my computer but had to leave in a hurry because my computer was dying.
This place is always a delight! While I've eaten here many a time, rarely do I get it to go except for today. I was craving something on the healthier side and decided this would do. Ordering was incredibly simple, as you can place it online and even customize it if need be. I chose the grilled lemon salmon, which comes with lemon butter sauce, fruit salsa, chef's vegetables and southwest rice. This dish is easily one of my favorites, as the salmon always tastes so fresh, and while the vegetables aren't really seasoned, they taste great with the butter sauce. The rice is good, too. As I got home, I opened the box and was welcomed to an aroma of butter sauce. I literally couldn't wait to dig in and once I did, it tasted just like I remembered. The salmon had a perfect char and was also cooked just right (medium), while the vegetables were crispy and the rice was spot on. One thing I haven't yet mentioned that's usually the main attraction are the complimentary chips and salsa. They're some of the best I've had and I'd choose those over any chips from the store. They have a nice assortment from white, red, dark, sweet potato, and the ever so favorite, won ton. The salsa that goes with it has no spices, and even tastes a little on the sweet side. As I sit here, full, I can't help but think what a great choice this was. Until next time....
This place is a GREAT Southwestern eatery with an upscale flavor. The pre-meal chips and salsa were fantastic, as was the Cobb salad with blackened grilled chicken for protein. The decor is casual, spacious, and elegant. A seat near the mall entrance puts you a glance away from Saks. Service staff were efficient and courteous, and checked on us several times. The clientele had that upbeat enthusiasm that I associate with this portion of West County. If you are feeling the blues, just have a meal at this place. You WILL feel better, as the Frontenac "we can do anything" optimism is highly contagious. That the venue is both a high-end shopping center and down the street from St. Louis' most dynamic innovation district are big "I feel GREAT" assets. Go on, you owe it to yourself. Check this place out.
Today we had lunch at this Cafe. I was seated immediately and Ivan was our waiter. He is polite and friendly. My date was late so I spent 30 minutes waiting for her arrival. I enjoyed a nice Chardonnay while I waited. When she arrived we ordered lunch h. I got the Combination Enchiladas. This is far too much food for a single person at lunch. I got a nice doggie bag for dinner. My friend got street tacos, 2 chicken and 1 vegetables. She said they were delicious and she ate them all. We paid about $37 per person for a good lunch. I will return.
Last review here from 2016 and now in 2024, I'm still a regular of this place. Every so often I get a craving for the Panchos Enchiladas and/or the Poblano Chicken Chowder. Most times, I can be seen having the Enchiladas on site with a to go of the soup. I really want to try other menu items, but it's super hard to sway from my classics. I have no clue how to make that sauce on the Enchiladas, but as long as they have it, you can find me at this restaurant at least once per quarter. Luv it, luv it! Seating at the bar is always met with friendly service and on a weekend or after work, you can count me in for a Limit 2 Top Shelf Margarita, no Salt.
